"We made the decision to treat our facility with the self-sanitizing coating because the science and the cost made sense to us. With a patient population that is fragile and at risk, any additional protection is worth the cost. My ICP convinced me products like the CareSafe protectant are the future of infection prevention."

Infection Prevention

The time to prevent the spread of infection is before you have a crisis. Hospitals, long term care facilities, clinics and physician’s offices must adopt a preventive strategy, one that is proactive, not reactive.  There are immediate steps every healthcare facility can take to prevent the spread of infection:

  • Don't depend entirely on people-oriented solutions.  Although hand washing is the leading infection preventive, not everyone is diligent in washing. Take the people, process and products out of the equation.  Solutions are available that work without people and processes.
  • Disinfecting is more than just cleaning the room.  Research has shown that housekeeping is only effective 50% of the time.  Only the tops of surfaces and obvious locations are disinfected.  Disinfectants are inadequate due to the application process. Problems occur with human error.  Newer more aggressive touchless forms of disinfecting are available.  CareSafe offers a hydrogen peroxide room fogger for total room disinfecting.  Our system is the only dry fogging system that is EPA validated as effective against Clostridium difficile spores.
  • Long lasting protectants create self-sanitizing surfaces for 24/7. protection.  Medical studies show that touch point disinfection is a major factor in reducing healthcare acquired infections. Surfaces act as reservoirs for microbes and it is clear that surface load contamination is the neglected factor in the spread of infection. Self-sanitizing surfaces aid in reducing dangerous pathogens when they come in contact with the surface.  CareSafe is proud to offer a self-sanitizing surface coating system that disinfects the area and then provides a coating protectant for long lasting clean and safe surfaces.
  • Not all new technology is cost prohibitive.  Hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and physician’s offices must get ahead of the problem, not just react to it. New technology is available to take control and prevent HAIs without breaking the budget. The CareSafe touchless hydrogen peroxide disinfectant and self-sanitizing surface coating system are moving to the top of infection prevention product lists. Both products have proven to be effective both clinically and financially.  All healthcare facilities now have options for being able to use the newest technology to assure a clean facility.  CareSafe will work within your budget to find a solution to meet the needs of your facility.
