"Budd Terrace at Wesley Woods is part of Atlanta's Emory Healthcare system, which means we must continuously focus on a critical approach to fighting an increasing financial burden and a continuous factor that is declining the quality of healthcare in our industry: infections. Applying antimicrobial smart coating to the high touch areas throughout our seven (7) floors, is the most aggressive and common sense approach we have pursued in our infection control efforts. As CareSafe's antimicrobial coating kills bacteria and viruses, we are already seeing a decreasing effect in our monthly facility infection statistical outcomes. Along with an effective infection control protocol, quality environmental service practice, without question, our staff feels a significant level of security in knowing that we have applied measures that protect them as employees, as well as provide another component to our high level quality of patient care delivery."

Today healthcare leaders are more aware of infection control than they were 10 years ago. Healthcare workers are trained to maintain higher standards of hygiene. Widespread increase in multi-drug resistant (MDRO) pathogens that cause infections are present in all areas of healthcare facilities. Maintaining a sanitary work environment is essential to the health of patients, visitors and staff.  Medical studies show that environmental disinfection is a major factor in reducing healthcare acquired infections.

Environmental surfaces act as reservoirs of microbes that could lead to the spread of sickness and infection. Hand washing by workers can control the further spread of the microorganism, but does not eliminate the surface contamination itself. Dangerous microbes are persistence in the environment and take days, weeks or months to die. Reducing the microbial bioburden is critical, and organizations must take a proactive approach.  Prevention, protection and control are the keys to reducing the spread of infections. CareSafe's novel technology provides a variety of PPC solutions:

Hydrogen Peroxide Room Fogger

The CareSafe hydrogen peroxide (HP) fogger is an amazing new delivery technology designed to supplement infection prevention measures, like manual cleaning, with safe and powerful surface disinfection. The CareSafe fogger is unlike HP delivery systems that have been on the market for many years and take hours to complete.  Our technology combines hydrogen peroxide and silver synergistically, releasing highly reactive free radicles that immediately begin to attack the cell membrane of the targeted microorganism. These weaken the cell and allow the silver ions to enter.  The CareSafe process can be completed in 60 minutes or less.

Self-Sanitizing Coating System

The CareSafe coating system is completely unlike conventional approaches to antimicrobial surfaces. Conventional approaches use toxic chemicals, heavy metals or dilute poisons to kill microbes.   The coating system is a 3 step process that includes a touchless disinfectant, an EPA approved antimicrobial and a light activated protectant.  The self-sanitizing coatings are both electrostatically applied to ensure complete coverage. The protective top coat acts as a photocatalyst to trap and oxidize all types of bacteria, viruses, fungus and spores through the production of hydroxyl radicals, one of the most powerful oxidizers of organics.  The finished surface treatment is a transparent, long lasting coating that provides ongoing protection against dangerous pathogens for one year.

Noroxycdiff™ Disinfectant

Noroxycdiff™ is a concentrated solution that is mixed with water. Noroxycdiff has outstanding disinfectant properties and is effective against bacteria, viruses and fungi. The reason for the excellent and rapid antimicrobial effects of Noroxycdiff is the specific capability to penetrate through the cell membrane. In the cell, the peracetic and acetic acid irreversibly disrupts the enzyme system, which in turn leads to destruction of the microorganism.
